We look at May 2011 HDB BTO applicant profile in the May 2011 BTO launch that closed recently.
May 2011 HDB BTO PROFILE:
May 2011 HDB BTO First Timer:
(A “first-timer” refers to an applicant who has never bought an HDB flat directly from HDB, nor taken a CPF Housing Grant.)
1st HDB BTO attempt = 35%
2nd HDB BTO attempt = 13%
3rd HDB BTO attempt = 8%
4th HDB BTO attempt = 5%
5th or more = 4%
Total = 65% applicants were first timers
May 2011 HDB BTO Second Timer:
(A “second-timer” refers to one who has previously bought an HDB flat directly from HDB or taken a CPF Housing Grant.)
1st HDB BTO attempt = 20%
2nd HDB BTO attempt = 7%
3rd HDB BTO attempt = 3%
4th HDB BTO attempt = 3%
5th or more = 2%
Total = 35% applicants were second timers
Among the first-timers, more than half applied under HDB’s Fiancé-Fiancée Scheme.
Their median age was 27.
As for the other first-timers (i.e. those already married), their median age was 34.
